Inspiration Behind the Name:
Lucy Stone refused to accept the limitations placed on women in the 1800s. At just 16 years old, she began teaching and quickly recognized the unfair wage gap between men and women doing the same work. Rather than accepting the status quo, Lucy dedicated her life to advocating for equality and expanding opportunities for future generations.
A gifted speaker, abolitionist, and suffragist, she became one of the most influential voices in the women's rights movement.
